BELGRADE, November 24. /TASS/. Russia should maintain all-round dialogue on Ukraine with all parties concerned, not confining itself only to talks with United States Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations Kurt Volker, a senior Russian lawmaker told TASS on Friday.
"We should maintain intensive dialogue with all parties concerned. I think we should not rely only on the US envoy. France, too, wants to continue to play a serious role and Germany is not going to retreat into the shadows," said Andrei Klimov, head of the commission for protection of state sovereignty of Russia’s Federation Council upper parliament house. "We should maintain dialogue with each of them, with the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and, naturally, spare no effort to push Kiev towards implementation of the Minsk agreements."
According to the Russian lawmaker, the situation has seriously changed in the recent years and the West is sending tough signals to Kiev demanding it implement the existing agreements. "We know that Kiev is being given rather tough messages, a thing we never heard of before. They are told: ‘You promised to do this and that, so, stop telling stories, come on, do what we you have promised to do.’ If compared with 2014-2015, the situation now is absolutely different and I think understanding that the problem is not in Moscow is growing," Klimov stressed.
The latest meeting between Russian president’s aide Vladislav Surkov met with United States Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations Kurt Volker took place in Belgrade on November 13.
