Russia grateful to Venezuela for support on Syria, Ukraine

Russia appreciate the established practice of mutual support for candidates in international organizations, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said

SOCHI, November 24. /TASS/. Russia is grateful to Venezuela for its support regarding Syria and Ukraine, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said opening a meeting of the Russian-Venezuelan High-Level Intergovernmental Commission.

"We are sincerely grateful to our Venezuelan friends for their continued support for Russia’s efforts on the most pressing international issues, including the situation in Syria and Ukraine," he said. "We appreciate the established practice of mutual support for candidates in international organizations, including in the United Nations agencies."

Rogozin drew attention to the fact that Venezuela voted for the Russian candidate to the position of the secretary general of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum.

He also expressed the hope for Venezuela’s support while voting for the right to host the World Expo-2025 exhibition scheduled for November 2018 where Russia nominated Yekaterinburg as a candidate city.
