The Russian leader came up to Larijani soon after the opening ceremony of the 137th IPU Assembly

ST PETERSBURG, October 14. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin had a short talk with Iranian Speaker Ali Larijani on the sidelines of the Inter-Parliamentary Union’s (IPU) Assembly in St. Petersburg on Saturday, TASS has reported.

The Russian leader came up to Larijani soon after the opening ceremony of the 137th IPU Assembly.

When asked by TASS, Putin’s press secretary, Dmitry Peskov did not comment on the talk.

After the opening ceremony, foreign parliamentarians surrounded the Russian president trying to greet him and say a few words. Some asked Putin for a joint photo.

Besides Larijani, Putin had a few words with Syria’s Speaker Hammoudeh al-Sabbagh. Members of Nigerian and Malian delegations were lucky to take selfies with the Russian leader, being the loudest in their requests.
