Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated Bill English on the occasion of his accession

MOSCOW, December 13. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent a message of congratulations to Bill English on the occasion of his accession to the office of New Zealand’s Prime Minister.

"The Russian head of state has voiced confidence that English’s work at the helm of New Zealand’s Cabinet will contribute to the development of the Russia-New Zealand cooperation for the benefit of the two countries’ peoples and in the interests of strengthening stability and security in the Asia-Pacific region," the Kremlin press service reported on Tuesday.

The Russian leader wished New Zealand’s premier a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
