Lavrov and Vietnamese foreign minister to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation

MOSCOW, November 24. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his Vietnamese counterpart Pham Binh Minh will hold talks in Moscow on Thursday. They will discuss expansion of bilateral cooperation in trade & investment, scientific & technological, military-technical and humanitarian spheres.

In particular, they will touch upon the topic of Hanoi’s refusal to implement the national nuclear energy program.

"The ministers will sign a plan for cooperation between the foreign ministries of Russia and Vietnam in 2017-2018," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

The visit of the Vietnamese foreign minister to Russia is "aimed at promoting cooperation between the foreign ministries of the two countries, comparing positions on relevant problems of mutual interest on global and regional agenda, strengthening coordination of actions on the international arena," the foreign ministry said.
