Foreign Ministry says Russia still keen to restore cooperation with EU

MOSCOW, November 23. /TASS/. Moscow is still keen to restore cooperation with the EU, Foreign Ministry said in a statement following Russian top diplomat Sergey Lavrov’s meeting with ambassadors from EU member states.

"Sergey Lavrov highlighted Russia’s willingness to restore cooperation with the European Union," the statement reads. "The ambassadors expressed similar points of view."

The Russian foreign minister briefed the ambassadors on the situation in Syria focusing on the importance of finding an early political solution to the conflict, providing effective humanitarian assistance to civilians and fighting against international terrorism."

"The meeting’s participants also discussed the Ukrainian crisis and a number of other pressing international issues," the foreign ministry added.
