Putin appoints deputy economic development minister Likhachyov as Rosatom chief

The previous Rosatom chief, Sergey Kiriyenko, was moved to the position of first deputy chief of the presidential staff

MOSCOW, October 5. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir has signed a decree to appoint a new general director of the state-run nuclear power corporation Rosatom. He is Aleksey Likhachyov, the Kremlin’s press-service said.

The decree is effective immediately.

Likhachyov has been included in Rosatom’s observer council.

The previous Rosatom chief, Sergey Kiriyenko, was moved to the position of first deputy chief of the presidential staff.

From 2007 and until just recently Likhachyov held the position of first deputy economic development minister.
