Moscow, London seek to boost dialog on international matters — ministry

On September 20, Russian, UK diplomats discussed the two countries' ties

MOSCOW, September 20. /TASS/. Russia’s First Deputy Foreign Minister Vladimir Titov met on Tuesday with British Ambassador to Russia Laurie Bristow to discuss bilateral ties within the context of the recent summit meeting, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported after the talks.

It said the sides "looked into the present state and prospects for Russian-British relations within the context of talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and British Prime Minister Theresa May on the sidelines of a G20 summit in China on September 4, and recent telephone conversations of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his British counterpart Boris Johnson".

The sides confirmed "mutual interest in giving a boost to a dialog on issues of mutual interest, including on the main international problems".

"They discussed the schedule of bilateral events, including contacts between the countries’ foreign ministries as well as cultural-humanitarian ties," the ministry said.
