NEW YORK, September 20. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State John Kerry are holding a meeting behind closed doors at Lotte New York Palace hotel ahead of a session of the International Syria Support Group.

As the US side has said, Lavrov and Kerry will focus on the observance of truce in Syria in general and the attack against a humanitarian convoy in Syria’s Aleppo province.

A US official said that Lavrov and Kerry had maintained close contact from the very moment the agreement on Syria took effect.

There will be more contacts in the coming days, the official said.

Earlier in Geneva Russia and the United States agreed a package of documents expected to establish a ceasefire regime. The truce in Syria took effect on September 12, but the Russian Defense Ministry has said more than once that it was systematically violated by the opposition.
