MOSCOW, May 20. /TASS/. Russia welcomes NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg’s initiative for holding a meeting of the Russia-NATO Council before the alliance’s summit in July, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov has told the media.
"Russia has never shirked dialog. We’ve always been for it," he said. "We hope that this is the sole way of resolving the outstanding issues we are faced with."
Peskov remarked that the "dialog should be keynoted by confidence and trust" and "based on mutual interests."
"Otherwise it can hardly be productive," he added.
