Large-scale investigation underway in Chechnya into May 9 suicide bomb attack

In the morning of May 9 police at a checkpoint in the Groznensky district prevented to gunmen carrying grenades and other explosives from entering the city

GROZNY, May 14. /TASS/. A large-scale investigation is underway in Chechnya into the May 9 attack against a checkpoint on the outskirts of the capital Grozny, Chechnya’s acting leader Ramzan Kadyrov said on Friday.

"Interior Minister Ruslan Alkhanov has said that thorough investigation is on into the suicide bomb attack in the area of Alkhan-Kaly (a village in the Groznensky district). Four suspects have been detained and charged with complicity," Kadyrov said on his page in the social network Vkontakte, adding that the injured police had been taken to an Interior Ministry hospital in Moscow.

In the morning of May 9 police at a checkpoint in the Groznensky district prevented to gunmen carrying grenades and other explosives from entering the city. As a result of the attack six police were injured.
