Medvedev to open Golden Autumn Agricultural Exhibition

This year’s exhibition will for the first time feature agro-industrial sectors of other countries of the BRICS association uniting Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa

MOSCOW, October 8. /TASS/. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on Thursday will open the 17th Russian Agricultural Exhibition Golden Autumn and will hand out state awards to workers of the agricultural sector, the press service of the government said.

The opening ceremony will also be attended by Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich, Minister of Agriculture Alexander Tkachev and other government officials, as well as governor of a number of Russian regions.

The Golden Autumn annual exhibition is timed to coincide with the Day of Agricultural Worker. This year, the exhibition will be held from October 8 through October 11 at Moscow’s Crocus Expo centre. Taking part in the exhibition will be more than 2,500 companies from 63 Russian regions and 23 foreign countries.

This year’s exhibition will for the first time feature agro-industrial sectors of other countries of the BRICS association uniting Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.

The exhibition’s business programme includes about 50 events, in particular, an agro business forum "Development of Mutually Beneficial Trade and Investments as a Guarantee of Sustainable Agricultural Development of the BRICS Countries," the 7th Russian youth forum "Agriculture - Territory of Opportunities," a panel discussion "New Agenda of Agricultural Education and Sustainable Development of the Russian Agrarian Sector." Traditionally, 17 sectoral contests will be held in the framework of the exhibition.
