MOSCOW, April 11. /TASS/. Russian troops delivered a night strike on Ukrainian fuel and energy facilities in retaliation to Kiev’s attempts to damage Russia’s oil and gas industry sites, the Defense Ministry of Russia reported on Thursday.

"In retaliation to the Kiev regime’s attempts to inflict damage on Russia’s oil and gas industry and energy sites, the Russian Armed Forces delivered a massive strike last night by air-launched and seaborne long-range precision weapons and unmanned aerial vehicles against Ukrainian fuel and energy facilities. The goal of the strike were achieved. All the targets were destroyed," the ministry said in a statement.

The Ukrainian army’s logistics were impaired following Russia’s retaliatory strikes at Ukraine’s fuel and energy facilities, the ministry reported.

Overnight to April 11, the Russian Armed Forces delivered a massive strike at Ukrainian fuel and energy facilities in retaliation to Kiev’s attempts to damage Russia’s oil and gas industry and energy sites, the ministry specified.

"The strikes disrupted the operation of Ukrainian military-industrial enterprises, thwarted the deployment of enemy reserves to combat areas and hampered fuel supplies for the Ukrainian army’s units and formations," the ministry said.

Russian forces gained better ground and inflicted casualties on two Ukrainian army brigades in the Kupyansk area over the past day, the ministry reported.

"In the Kupyansk direction, Battlegroup West units took more advantageous positions and inflicted casualties on formations of the 103rd territorial defense brigade and 13th Ukrainian National Guard brigade near the settlements of Kruglyakovka in the Kharkov Region and Serebryanka in the Donetsk People’s Republic," the ministry said.

The Ukrainian army’s losses in the Kupyansk direction over the past 24 hours amounted to "35 personnel, two armored combat vehicles, three motor vehicles, a US-made 155mm M109 Paladin self-propelled artillery gun, a 152mm Akatsiya self-propelled artillery system, a 152mm D-20 howitzer and a 122mm D-30 howitzer," it specified.

Russian forces improved their frontline positions and inflicted casualties on four Ukrainian army brigades in the Donetsk area over the past day, the ministry reported.

"In the Donetsk direction, Southern Battlegroup units improved their forward edge positions and inflicted damage by firepower on the personnel and equipment of the Ukrainian army’s 54th mechanized, 46th airmobile, 79th and 80th air assault brigades near the settlements of Belogorovka, Ostroye, Konstantinovka, Krasnogorovka and Verkhnekamenskoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic," the ministry said.

Kiev suffers 520 casualties in Donetsk area over past day

The Ukrainian army sustained roughly 520 casualties and lost four armored personnel carriers in battles with Russian forces in the Donetsk area over the past day, the ministry reported.

"The Ukrainian army lost roughly 520 personnel, three armored personnel carriers and four motor vehicles. In counter-battery fire, the following targets were destroyed: a 155mm M777 howitzer and a 105mm M119 artillery gun of US manufacture, a 152mm Msta-B howitzer, a 122mm Gvozdika motorized artillery system and two Nota electronic warfare stations," the ministry said.

"In the Avdeyevka direction, Battlegroup Center units improved their tactical position in active operations and repulsed eight counterattacks by assault groups of the Ukrainian army’s 25th airborne, 71st jaeger, 59th motorized infantry, 24th, 47th and 115th mechanized brigades near the settlements of Pervomaiskoye, Novokalinovo, Novobakhmutovka, Umanskoye and Berdychi in the Donetsk People’s Republic," the ministry said.

The Ukrainian army sustained roughly 275 casualties in battles with Russian forces in the Avdeyevka area over the past day, the ministry reported.

"The enemy lost as many as 275 personnel, two tanks, two infantry fighting vehicles and two pickup trucks. In counter-battery fire, the following targets were destroyed: a Polish-made 155mm Krab self-propelled artillery gun, a 152mm Msta-B howitzer, two 122mm Gvozdika motorized artillery systems and a 122mm D-30 howitzer," the ministry said.

The Ukrainian army lost roughly 105 troops and a US-made howitzer in battles with Russian forces in the south Donetsk area over the past day, the ministry reported.

"The enemy’s losses [in the south Donetsk direction] amounted to 105 personnel, three motor vehicles, an US-made 155mm M777 howitzer and a Nota electronic warfare station," the ministry said.

Russian troops inflicted casualties on two Ukrainian army brigades in the Kherson area over the past day, the ministry reported.

"In the Kherson direction, Dnepr Battlegroup units inflicted damage by firepower on the personnel and equipment of the 128th mountain assault brigade and 121st territorial defense brigade near the settlements of Lobkovoye in the Zaporozhye Region and Nikopol in the Dnepropetrovsk Region," the ministry said.

The Ukrainian army’s losses in the Kherson direction over the past 24 hours amounted to 35 personnel, five motor vehicles, a US-manufactured 155mm M777 howitzer and a 152mm Giatsint-B towed howitzer, it specified.

Russian troops destroyed three Ukrainian artillery arsenals and an air defense system over the past day, the ministry reported.

"Operational/tactical aircraft, missile troops and artillery of the Russian groupings of forces destroyed three missile/artillery armament and air-launched ammunition depots, an S-125 surface-to-air missile launcher and inflicted casualties on the Ukrainian army’s manpower and military hardware in 112 areas," the ministry said.

Russian troops have destroyed 500 air defense systems and over 15,700 armored combat vehicles of the Ukrainian army since the start of the special military operation in Ukraine, the ministry reported.

"In all, the following targets have been destroyed since the start of the special military operation: 583 aircraft, 270 helicopters, 20,355 unmanned aerial vehicles, 500 surface-to-air missile systems, 15,756 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,266 multiple rocket launchers, 8,818 field artillery guns and mortars and 20,887 special military motor vehicles," the ministry reported.
