Russia boosts security at transit hubs after terrorist attack in Crocus

Inspection measures are carried out, specialists with dogs are working

MOSCOW, March 28. /TASS/. The Russian Interior Ministry has strengthened security measures at transit hubs in Russia after the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall, head of the Main Department of Transport of the Russian Interior Ministry Oleg Kalinkin said.

"Of course, (security measures have been strengthened), but not at all sites. Units of internal affairs bodies are working, and units of transportation security operate too. Inspection measures are carried out, specialists with dogs are working," he said. He also noted that the police pay attention to passengers. "At some places, entry points where passengers are checked have been reinforced," Kalinkin said.

"The law on transport security says that CCTV cameras must always be in proper working order. Archives must be kept for up to 30 days," he added.

On the evening of March 22, a terrorist attack targeted the Crocus City Hall music venue in Krasnogorsk, Moscow Region, just outside the Moscow city limits. At least 143 people were killed. According to the latest data, some 360 people were injured, 205 of whom received medical assistance.
