Russian troops gain foothold in central Rabotino in Zaporozhye area

In the Orekhov direction, weather strongly influences the frontline situation, Vladimir Rogov noted

MELITOPOL, March 18. /TASS/. Russian troops have taken control of the school building in the central part of Rabotino in the Zaporozhye area over the past day, Vladimir Rogov, chairman of the We Are Together with Russia public movement, told TASS on Monday.

"We have made some advance in the Rabotino area. The school [in the central part of the community is] under our control and we have now secured this position and this gives us advantages. We have also moved forward a little northwest of the community of Verbovoye," he said.

In the Orekhov direction, weather strongly influences the frontline situation, he added.

"The wind creates problems for drones now: they are being blown off. Artillery fire is directed at sites uncovered earlier and weather affects the intensity of shelling because there is no fire adjustment," the politician said.

Rogov told TASS on March 16 that Russian forces had taken control of the central part of Rabotino.

Russia’s Defense Ministry reported in late February that Russian forces had gained foothold in the settlement of Rabotino in their offensive operation. The Ukrainian military has been unsuccessfully trying to regain its lost positions by bringing reinforcements from other directions to that area.
