MOSCOW, January 25. /TASS/. Any sort of civilian oversight on the implementation of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s May Decrees is welcome, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters, commenting on blogger Alexei Navalny’s plan to launch a trade union to fight for increased wages, as stipulated in the decrees.

"President Putin has emphasized on numerous occasions the need for the public to monitor the implementation of the tasks set out in the May Decrees," Peskov said.

"This is why any public participation in monitoring its activities is welcome," the Russian presidential spokesman stated. Nevertheless, he pointed out that he was not aware of the details on Navalny’s initiative. "We don’t have specific information on what this is all about," he said.
