LONDON, November 17. /TASS/. Russia’s Embassy in London sarcastically recommended that the United Kingdom work out "a very expensive approach" to protect itself from impact of the Russian animated television series "Masha and the Bear", the embassy wrote on its Twitter page on Saturday.

The comment was posted in response to an article in The Times which accuses the children’s show of "being a soft propaganda tool for the Kremlin".

"An important issue raised by @thetimes today: How UK can find salvation from "Masha and the Bear"? Launch an Ant-Cartoon Excellence Centre somewhere in the Baltic? Place all cartoonists on EU sanction list? Clearly a decisive - and a very expensive - approach is needed!" the Russian embassy tweeted.

‘Masha and the Bear’ has amassed over two billion views on YouTube. In March 2017, the Russian animated television series was ranked fifth most popular YouTube video of all time. The series are translated into English and other languages and more than 4.2 million viewers are signed in to the YouTube cartoon account.
