MOSCOW, August 2. /TASS/. Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has discussed ways to boost trade and economic collaboration with Seoul and Pyohgyang with his South Korean counterpart Kang Kyung-wha in a trilateral format on the sidelines of ASEAN-related ministerial events in Singapore, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Thursday.

"Among the questions discussed were pressing issues related to expansion of bilateral relations, including prospects of speeding up trade and economic cooperation, particularly in the Russia - Republic of Korea - DPRK format, as well as collaboration in other practical fields in the context of agreements reached during the Russian-Korean summit in Moscow on June 22, 2018," the statement said.

The sides shared views regarding a number of relevant topics on the global and regional agenda, with the focus on the situations around the Korean Peninsula and in Northeast Asia in general, the ministry said. "Both sides confirmed commitment to increasing joint efforts aimed at solving existing regional problems using instruments of diplomacy only," the statement said.
