Several versions are being looked into, the main being a terrorist attack, police said

BISHKEK, March 27. /ITAR-TASS/. World kickboxing champion Ruslan Abasov was killed in a car bomb blast in the Kyrgyz city of Tokmak on Thursday, police sources from Kyrgyzstan’s Chui region told Tass on Thursday.

“A car bomb went off after the athlete and his wife got into the (Toyota Land Cruiser) car,” police said, adding that “all details of the accident are being specified at the moment”. Abasov died on the way to hospital, while his wife is in grave condition. Field engineers and criminalists work at the site, but so far they cannot say what kind of an explosive device was used. “Several versions are being looked into, the main being a terrorist attack,” police sources said.
