Combined children’s choir to sing at closing ceremony of Sochi Olympics

KRASNODAR, January 10. /ITAR-TASS/. A one-thousand-strong combined children’s choir, which will sing at a closing ceremony of the Sochi Olympics, includes 90 choristers representing the Southern Federal District, the regional culture ministry told Itar-Tass on Friday.

All members of the choir had several rehearsals in their districts on January 3 to 6. Artistic Director of a famous Kuban Cossack Choir Viktor Zakharchenko has conducted the choir from the Southern Federal District. The whole one-thousand-strong choir came to the city of St. Petersburg on January 7 for a rehearsal with a symphony orchestra conducted by Artistic Director of the State Academic Mariinsky Theatre Valery Gergiev at the grand stage of the theater.
