MOSCOW, December 31. /TASS/. Seven children may be under the debris in Magnitogorsk, where an entrance of a residential building collapsed earlier on Monday as a result of a household gas explosion, governor of the Chelyabinsk region Boris Dubrovsky said at the operational meeting at the site of the tragedy, which was broadcast by the Rossiya-24 TV channel.

According to Dubrovsky, the authorities have a list of names of those who lived in the collapsed part of the house.

"The number of those who are registered and definitely were in these 24 apartments is 50 people ... We understand where some of them are. We are working with the number of 35 people - we don’t know where they are. Unfortunately, seven of them are children. We have a list of names, [names of those who lived in the house], we verified all the lists, all the names, "he said.

"We are now giving all the information on this issue through the [mass] media of the city in the hope that people will respond and say that they are still on the list formally, that they are safe," the governor added.

The meeting was attended by Emergencies Minister Evgeny Zinichev, Minister of Health Veronika Skvortsova, as well as heads of the Chelyabinsk region and the Urals Federal District.

According to preliminary data, early on Monday, an explosion of household gas caused a collapse of the ceilings in one of the entrances of a ten-story apartment building in Magnotogorsk. According to the latest data, four people died. At the moment, the fate of more than 30 people remains unknown.
