Putin instructs setting up the relief commission on Magnitogorsk emergency

The president held an operational meeting at the site of the tragedy

MAGNITOGORSK /Chelyabinsk Region/, December 31. /TASS/. President Vladimir Putin ordered the creation of a government commission to relieve the consequences of a gas explosion in a residential building in Magnitogorsk.

"We are going to create a special government commission with the Minister of Emergency Situations," Putin said at an operational meeting at the site of the tragedy.

According to him, all related departments will be involved in the work of this commission.

The meeting was attended by Emergencies Minister Evgeny Zinichev, Minister of Health Veronika Skvortsova, as well as heads of the Chelyabinsk region and the Urals Federal District.

On Monday morning, in Magnitogorsk, according to preliminary information, an explosion of household gas caused a collapse in one of the entrances of a ten-story apartment building. According to the latest data, four people died. At the moment, the fate of 35 people remains unknown.
