Putin suggests Rosneft and Sistema consider amicable agreement

The Kremlin press secretary declined to comment on whether the dialogue between the top managers of the companies actually took place

MOSCOW, December 22. /TASS/. According to Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov, after a meeting with heads of Russian business majors on December 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed leaving some time open for a conversation between the CEOs of Rosneft and Sistema Igor Sechin and Vladimir Yevtushenkov.

Peskov commented on information from a number of media outlets, referring to sources that said that at the end of the meeting, Putin suggested that participants leave, so that Sechin and Yevtushenkov could have an opportunity to discuss the tension that had developed between the companies. At the same time, the press secretary declined to comment on whether the dialogue between the two top managers actually took place.

"It was said more in a free, humorous atmosphere, it was an informal part of the meeting, where the president wished the gathering’s participants a happy New Year," Peskov said. "Still, he really did say these words," he added.
