Putin approves action plan to boost competition on Russian markets

MOSCOW, December 22. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree to approve an action plan for 2018-2020 to encourage competition at Russian markets.

The document lists practical measures aimed at developing economic competition.

The goal of those measures is to ensure than any market, except for natural monopolies and the defense industry, has at least three players and at least one of them is privately owned.

In addition, the share of state purchases from small- and medium-sized businesses is intended to double by 2020.

At the same time, the number of antimonopoly law violations by state bodies is expected to be reduced by half.
