Kaspersky Lab files appeal against decision to ban software use by US government agencies

The appeal was submitted to the US District Court in Washington, D.C.

MOSCOW, December 18. /TASS/. Kaspersky Lab files an appeal against the decision taken earlier by the US Department of Homeland Security banning use of company’s products by US governmental agencies, the Russian antivirus software producer said on Monday.

The company "is seeking an appeal in federal court of U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) decision on Binding Operational Directive 17-01 banning the use of the company’s products in federal agencies," Kaspersky Lab said. "The company asserts that the DHS’s decision is unconstitutional and relied on subjective, non-technical public sources such as uncorroborated and often anonymously sourced media reports, related claims, and rumors," the Russian company noted.

The appeal was submitted to the US District Court in Washington, D.C., Kaspersky Lab told TASS.
