Putin considers Russian-Turkish energy projects vital

According to Russian President, energy cooperation was a separate topic of the talks

ANKARA, December 11. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin is satisfied with the level of interaction between Russia and Turkey in the energy sphere.

"It is of principled importance that [the two sides] are starting construction of Turkey’s first nuclear power plant Akkuyu, as well as construction of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline is in the schedule. It is planned to lay on two lines on the Black Sea bottom with the capacity of 15.75 billion cubic meters each," the Russian leader told reporters upon results of his talks with Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. According to the Russian head of state, energy cooperation was a separate topic of the talks.

In Putin words, "implementation of the [Turkish Stream] project, undoubtedly, will strengthen Turkey’s energy safety, and diversify Russia’s gas supplies to other countries.".
