No obstacles for financing of new Venezuelan projects — Russian deputy PM

The solution has been found in respect of Venezuela’s credit debt, Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said

SOCHI, November 24. /TASS/. No obstacles are seen for interaction in financing further projects with Venezuela and settling the loan debt, Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said on Friday.

"We do not see any obstacles so far to continue interaction, either from standpoint of solving the issue related to accumulated debt or from standpoint of financing further projects," the official said.

The solution has been found in respect of Venezuela’s credit debt, Rogozin said. "It was recorded in agreements dated November 15 of this year and is related to settlement of issues arisen in respect of credits extended by the Russian Federation earlier," the deputy prime minister said. "Now we should simply follow decisions already taken on November 15," he added.

Russia currently plans to focus on providing support to the government of Venezuela in subsurface exploration, more efficient use of hydrocarbons, development of gas sector, alternative energy, supplies of agricultural products to and from Venezuela, and space development, Rogozin said.
