Putin to discuss steps to improve living standards in Arctic at international forum

The Russian president is scheduled to meet with Presidents Gudni Johannesson of Iceland and Sauli Niinisto of Finalnd

MOSCOW, March 27. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin will take part in the 4th international forum The Arctic: Territory of Dialogue in the city of Archangelsk in northwestern Russia on March 30, the Kremlin press service said on Monday.

According to the press service, the president will speak at the forum’s plenary session before foreign delegations, representatives of international organization, business and expert community. "The forum’s discussions are expected to center round issues of improving living standards of people living in the Arctic region, preservation of its unique ecological potential, ensuring sustainable socio-economic development of polar territories and strengthening international cooperation of these ends," the press service said.

Apart from that, the Russian president is scheduled to meet with Presidents Gudni Johannesson of Iceland and Sauli Niinisto of Finalnd, who will take part in the forum, the Kremlin said.
