Court postpones Google case trial until April 4

The case was postponed according to an application from Google in view of the settlement proposal made by the US corporation

MOSCOW, March 2. /TASS/. Moscow Arbitration Court postponed consideration of the case on the 438 mln rubles ($7.5 mln) fine imposed by the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) on Google until April 4, a FAS representative said on Thursday.

"Postponed until April 4," she said.

The case was postponed according to an application from Google in view of the settlement proposal made by the US corporation for FAS, the FAS representative added.

Google approached FAS with a proposal to make a settlement, the regulator said before. Conditions of the settlement have not been discussed yet, FAS said earlier.

In September 2015, the Federal Antimonopoly Service ruled that Google Inc. and Google Ireland Ltd. had breached the competition protection law under the complaint of the Russian Internet company Yandex.

According to the regulator, Google obliged manufacturers of Android OS-based devices to pre-install its applications together with Android platform. FAS said that Google’s policy restricted installation of applications by other developers. Google did not agree with the ruling and appealed to the court.
