MOSCOW, October 24 /TASS/. Maros Sefcovic, the Vice-President of the European Union Commission in charge of Energy Union, is planning to visit Moscow but the date of his trip has not yet been set, Vladimir Chizhov, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the European Union, said on Monday.
Chizhov said that Moscow and Brussels continued discussing energy issues. "The discussion is taking place either at an expert level or during isolated episodic political contacts rather than within the framework of a structured energy dialogue," Chizhov stressed.
"Mr. Sefcovic’s visit to Moscow is on the agenda. The exact date has not yet been set. Hopefully, we will have more clarity on this matter soon," the Russian diplomat stressed.
Chizhov said that the Russia-EU energy dialogue would resume in full measure after it comes out of the shadow of politicization, which has quite a negative impact on it. "I am an optimist in this respect," Chizhov added.
