Nord Stream 2 to have logistics hubs for pipes storage in Finland’s Kotka, Hanko ports

MOSCOW, August 22. /TASS/. Nord Stream AG 2 and its partner for concrete weight coating and pipe storage Wasco Coatings Europe BV confirmed Kotka and Hanko as Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline project’s logistics hubs in Finland, the company said on Monday.

"Wasco will take over the existing weight coating plant and store pipes at the Port of HaminaKotka in Kotka. The company will also use Port of Hanko’s Koverhar as a storage yard for concrete weight coated pipes," Nord Stream 2 AG said.

Preliminary activities started for the planned storage area in Kotka to receive the first pipe deliveries at the end of September, the pipeline project operator said. The coating and logistics contract will be finalized and signed "within the next weeks," Nord Stream 2 AG said.
