Russia’s GAZ Group to start serial production of self-driving cars by 2030 — company

GAZ Group has already presented the self-driving Gazel van running autonomously with the speed of 10-20 km/h

NIZHNIY NOVGOROD, July 17. /TASS/. Russian motor company GAZ Group plans to start serial production of self-driving vehicles by 2030, Executive Director of the company Gunter Haiden said on Friday.

"This is not fantastic; such technologies become part of the reality. We will start large-scale production of self-driving vehicles by 2025-2030," Haiden added.

GAZ Group has already presented the self-driving Gazel van running autonomously with the speed of 10-20 km/h. "Legal problems and mentality of people are the most important now: imagine an individual at the backseat and nobody at the wheel," Haiden said.
