MOSCOW, December 29 /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin and IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde discussed financial and economic situation in Ukraine on Monday, the Kremlin press service reported.
“Putin informed her about steps which Russia is taking to help the Ukrainian economy, including deliveries of Russian energy resources on preferential terms as well as on the line of the banking community,” the Kremlin press service said.
“The sides expressed hope that the IMF would continue rendering assistance to Ukraine in the solution of serious problems that the country is facing,” the press service added.
Putin and Lagarde also agreed to maintain contacts.
