Ukraine to buy 27-30 billion cubic meters of Russian gas in 2014

KIEV, March 12. /ITAR-TASS/. Nazftogaz of Ukraine is planning to purchase 27-30 billion cubic metres of natural gas produced by Russian monopoly Gazprom this year, Ukrainian Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Yury Prodan told journalists on Wednesday.

Prodan also expressed hope Russia would not impose sanctions for under-consumed gas in 2014. Ukraine paid about $80 million out of $440 million for fuel imported in February and would “collect and pay” the shortfall, he added.
