China-Russia trans-border trade grows 5,8% year-on-year in 2013

BEIJING, January 12, /ITAR-TASS/. The trade turnover between north-eastern Chinese province Heilongjiang and several territorial entities in Russia’s Far East has reached 22.36 billion dollars in 2013, posting a 5.8 percent year-on-year growth, the customs directorate of the Chinese province reported.

The trans-border trade turnover has made around one fourth of overall trade between the two countries. Meanwhile, the structure of trade relations between regions of the countries has changed slightly in favour of Russia, as the latter country had exported products worth of 15.45 billion dollars in Heilongjiang in 2013 that is 34 percent higher than in 2012.

Despite positive changes in regional trade and economic relations, the bilateral trade had experienced some stagnation, going up only 1.1 percent to 89 billion dollars in the previous year, the Chinese Directorate General of Customs reported.
