Russian Arctic zone’s socio-economic development program included in list of state programs

The Russian Ministry of Regional Development has been appointed a responsible structure for the fulfilment of the program

MOSCOW, July 12 (Itar-Tass) - Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev gave an order to include in the list of federal targeted programs the program aimed at the social and economic development of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation in the period up to 2020, the official website of the Russian Cabinet of Ministers said on Friday.

“There were also determined guidelines for the implementation of the program, including support of the comprehensive socioeconomic development of the Russian Arcitc zone, promotion of the top-priority spheres of the economic growth in the afore-said zone, as well as guarantee of its environmental safety,” the relevant document wrote.

The Russian Ministry of Regional Development has been appointed a responsible structure for the fulfilment of the program.
