MOSCOW, January 16 (Itar-Tass) — The Russian federal budget was deficit-free in 2012, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said on Wednesday, addressing the annual international Gaidar Forum-2013 entitled “Russia and the World: Challenges of Integration.” The forum opened in Moscow on Wednesday, January 16, and will last till January 19.
“We certainly have no budget deficit. Russia managed to guarantee balanced federal budget in 2012,” he said.
Upon results of the preceding year, Russia’s non-petroleum deficit, or the deficit excluding the revenues from oil and gas export, amounted to 10.6 percent of the GDP, the minister said.
