The Kremlin stressed that French businesses were broadly represented in the Russian market, despite the current international climate and economic conditions

MOSCOW, April 18. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin will receive Jean-Pierre Chevenement, the French Government’s Special Representative for Relations with Russia, on Thursday, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

"Putin will have a separate meeting with the French Government’s Special Representative for Relations with Russia Chevenement," he said.

Besides, the Russian president’s schedule includes a meeting with French businesspeople. "Those will be members of the Economic Council of the Franco-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry," Peskov noted. "You know that he met with them before as well. The last such meeting was held in Novo-Ogaryovo a couple of years ago."

The Kremlin spokesman stressed that French businesses were broadly represented in the Russian market, despite the current international climate and economic conditions. "The French have come to stay here for a long time. They want to talk with the head of state about that, and he reciprocated," he concluded.
