Russian PM points to tradition of good relations with Vietnam

According to the Russian prime minister, ties between the two countries’ regions have been progressing

HANOI, November 19. /TASS/. Moscow and Hanoi have good prospects for tourism, cultural and educational cooperation, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said following intergovernmental talks.

Medvedev pointed out that 2019 would mark the Bilateral Year of Russia and Vietnam. "We are making preparations for this event and I am sure we will pay special attention to it," he said.

According to the Russian prime minister, ties between the two countries’ regions have been progressing, as well as tourism, cultural and educational cooperation.

"An important thing is that apart from economy and politics - the fields where we have a tradition of good relations - the same goes for people-to-people ties. Our people are genuinely interested in each other, each other’s history, and are eager to get to know each other better. The best example of this is the mutual growth of tourist inflow and educational and humanitarian projects that have been an essential feature of our cooperation in the past decades," Medvedev said.
