Aeroflot can open four regional hubs in Russia — CEO

Aeroflot is eyeing an option of opening regional hubs in Sochi, Ekaterinburg, Novosibirsk and Krasnoyarsk

MOSCOW, October 29. /TASS/. Aeroflot is eyeing an option of opening regional hubs in Sochi, Ekaterinburg, Novosibirsk and Krasnoyarsk, Chief Executive Officer of the Russian flag carrier Vitaly Savelyev said on Monday.

"We would like to consider four points: these are Sochi, where we will have a base and not merely fly, Ekaterinburg, where our base will be, Novosibirsk and Krasnoyarsk," Savelyev said.

At the same time, the company plans to organize a hub in Vladivostok, the top manager said. "We continue developing Vladivostok. We will have a base; our regional airline Aurora will exactly be there, which will carry regional transportation," he said. The hub in Khabarovsk will also be developed, Savelyev noted.

Aeroflot has plans to build a network of hubs in Russian regions, Savelyev said in June 2018. The United Aircraft Corporation and Aeroflot inked an agreement on supply of 100 SSJ-100 aircraft for accomplishment of the regional program on September 10 of this year.
