Russia's Novatek may increase LNG output forecast by 2030

JIANGSU RUDONG, July 19. /TASS/. Novatek may revise the forecast for liquefied natural gas (LNG) production by 2030 up to 57-58 mln tonnes per year, the company's CEO Leonid Mikhelson said on Thursday.

"Maybe the plans to increase LNG production by 2030 that Novatek published earlier, we will increase up to 57-58 mln tonnes," Mikhelson said.

Earlier, Mikhelson said that Novatek plans to produce 55-57 mln tonnes of LNG gas by 2030, and after 2030 it is already up to 70 mln tonnes.

It was reported earlier that the growth will be mainly due to construction of Yamal LNG liquefied natural gas plants with a capacity of 17.4 mln tonnes, Arctic LNG 2 with 19.8 mln tonnes, and three LNG production lines. Their location and capacity the company will consider separately, but their comission is planned for 2026-2030.
