AMSTERDAM, May 15. /TASS/. Natural gas deliveries over the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline will start at the turn of 2019 - early 2020, Chief Commercial Officer of the Nord Stream 2 AG Reinhard Ontyd said on Tuesday at the Flame gas conference.

"Operations of the pipeline will start at the turn of 2019 - early 2020," the top manager said. The company expects to obtain remaining permits in recent months in line with the construction schedule, Ontyd added.

"On behalf of the Nord Stream 2 we once again confirm that commissioning of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline is scheduled at the turn of 2019," the operating company said in its comment to TASS.

The Nord Stream 2 pipeline is expected to come into service at the end of 2019. The pipeline is set to run from the Russian coast along the Baltic Sea bed to the German shore. Each of the pipeline’s two stretches will have a capacity of 27.5 bln cubic meters. The new pipeline will double the capacity of the first stretch and will basically follow its route. The total cost of the pipeline is estimates at 9.5 bln euros.

The gas pipeline route crosses territorial waters of Russia and Germany and exclusive economic zones of Russia, Finland, Sweden, Denmark and Germany. Germany and Finland already issued all the required permits for the project.
