Gazprom, Saudi Aramco plan to create coordination committee to expand cooperation

Gazprom and Saudi Aramco signed a memorandum of understanding in the field of international gas cooperation during the official visit of King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to Russia

MOSCOW, April 18. /TASS/. Gazprom and Saudi Aramco agreed to establish a joint coordination committee for implementing the memorandum of cooperation, which was signed in the autumn of 2017, the Russian company said in a statement.

The creation of the committee is stipulated by the addition to the memorandum, which was signed on Wednesday at the meeting of Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller and Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources of Saudi Arabia Khalid Al-Falih and the company’s CEO Amin Nasser, the statement said.

According to the statement, the talks gave a positive assessment of the prospects for cooperation in the gas sector.

The document reflects the intention to explore prospects for cooperation in the exploration, production, transportation and storage of gas, as well as projects for liquefying natural gas.
