MOSCOW, December 21. /TASS/. The Russian government has approved the next year’s state arms procurement program, Russian deputy prime minister in charge of defense and space industry, Dmitry Rogozin, said on Tuesday.

"Today, on December 21, the Russian government has approved the state armaments program for 2018," Rogozin wrote in a Twitter post.

"This [year 2018] will be the first year of implementation of the new rearmament program for 2018-2027, the draft of which will be submitted to the Russian president for signing," he added.

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said earlier in the day that the government will consider a three-year arms procurement plan during its meeting on Tuesday.
