Military officials from at least 80 states to take part in Moscow Security Conference

MOSCOW, April 11. /TASS/. Twenty defense ministers and 15 chiefs of staff will take part in the 2016 Conference on International Security, a reputed event gathering senior military and security officials from all over the globe on April 27-28 in Moscow, Deputy Defense Minister Anatoly Antonov said on Monday.

"We invited representatives from almost 100 countries," Antonov said. "As of today, representatives from at least 80 countries, three deputy prime ministers, 20 defense ministers, 15 chiefs of staff, 10 international organizations and military delegations confirmed their participation."

"We expect nearly 500 guests," he said, adding that combatting international terrorism in Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia will be in the focus of the conference’s agenda.

"The participants will discuss the influence of ‘colored revolutions’ on regional security, assess the role of armed forces in ensuring countries stability and analyze current Middle East and Central Asia developments," Antonov said.

According to the deputy minister, ten officials of international organizations, two deputies of the UN Secretary General, the OSCE, International Committee of Red Cross officials, representatives of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Collective Security Treaty Organization, the Arab League will take part in the conference.
