MOSCOW, January 12. /TASS/. During surprise combat readiness inspections in 2016 the Russian army will focus on the alignment of forces in the threat corridors, as well as drilling antiaircraft defence tasks with the use of aviation, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu said on Tuesday.
The minister said at a teleconference that the practice of snap combat readiness checks involving federal and regional authorities will be continued this year. Maneuvers of this kind will be conducted in all of the country’s military districts and service branches, the defense minister said.
"The closest attention in these drills should be paid to the long-distance deployment of troops, alignment of forces in threat corridors, drilling antiaircraft defense tasks with the practical use of aviation," Shoigu said.
