Russian troops to receive 71,000 'soldier of the future' combat outfits by year-end

The first serial Ratnik combat gear was supplied in spring

The Russian Defense Ministry will receive 71,000 Ratnik "soldier of the future" combat outfits for the years 2014-2015, Head of the Central Research Institute for Precision Machine-Building (TsNIITochMash) Dmitry Semizorov told TASS on Wednesday.

"The first serial combat gear was supplied in spring. As many as 71,000 outfits will be supplied by the end of the year," Semizorov said.

This number includes the supplies for the years 2014 and 2015, he said.

"We added this year and the previous year’s results and they equaled 71,000," the company’s CEO said.
