Rostec to show Russian heavy-duty aircraft internationally for first time in 30 years

According to the press service, the Russian manufacturers’ participation in the Dubai Airshow offers a high-value opportunity to directly pursue business ties with potential partners and clients from Middle Eastern countries

MOSCOW, November 10. /TASS/. Russian state high-tech export company Rostec will demonstrate a domestic-made heavy transport aircraft, the Il-76MD-90A (E), internationally for the first time in nearly 30 years at the Dubai Airshow 2023, the Rostec press service said.

"The Rostec state corporation will exhibit around 200 samples of military, dual-use and civilian sector products at the Dubai Airshow 2023 international exhibition. The Il-76MD-90A (E) heavy transport aircraft will be the showcase exhibit as Russia has not presented this class of aircraft abroad since 1994. Moreover, the upgraded Ka-32A11M firefighting helicopter and the shortened 5.56 mm AK-19 Kalashnikov assault rifle are also expected to make their international debut," the press service said.

The Russian pavilion in Dubai, which is being organized by the Rosoboronexport arms export agency, will encompass products made by the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), Russian Helicopters, Ruselectronics, Kalashnikov Concern, High Precision Systems, Concern Radio-Electronic Technologies and other holding companies within the Rostec corporate structure.

The Dubai Airshow is one of the world’s largest aerospace exhibitions, which is held once every two years. Russia has been a participant in the Dubai Airshow since 1993. This year, 20 national pavilions at the Dubai Airshow will demonstrate over 180 aircraft made by more than 1,400 manufacturers. The Dubai Airshow 2023 will run from November 13 through 17.
