MOSCOW, March 21. /TASS/. Participants in the Moscow Conference on International Security scheduled for April 23-25 will focus on the situation in the Middle East, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Thursday.
"The sides will discuss the situation in the Middle East with an emphasis on stabilizing the situation in Syria. Special sectional sessions will be devoted to issues of peacekeeping, expanding military cooperation, regional security in Asia, Africa and Latin America," the defense ministry said.
"The Moscow conference became an annual forum that brings together representatives of defense ministries, international organizations and non-governmental experts in search for solutions to the most pressing issues of global security. Conference discussions allow not only to better understand positions of different countries, but also to determine the most promising avenues for international military cooperation," the defense ministry added.
The 8th Moscow Conference on International Security will be held on April 23-25 in Moscow. Last year the conference brought together 850 delegates from 95 countries, including 30 defense ministers.
