Russian military to get four upgraded Tupolev-160M bombers by 2023

Tupolev-160M2 is a brand-new bomber with tactical and technical characteristics

KAZAN, January 30. /TASS/. Russia’s Armed Forces will be provided with the first four upgraded strategic bombers Tupolev-160M2 by 2023, the Kazan aircraft plant said in a report presented to Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, who visited the Tupolev corporation’s enterprise on Wednesday.

The report says that Tupolev-160M2 is a brand-new bomber with tactical and technical characteristics, which are practically second to none in the world and are not expected to be outdone in the near future.

The aircraft plant said that the first aircraft, which basic plane was manufactured back in the Soviet times, was already in operation, while three more completely new Tupolev-160M2 bombers would be handed to the contractor by the end of 2022.
